Oklee - Ronald Hince, 55, died Saturday, May 27, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Oklee with Father Gary LaMoine officiating. Barb Melby will be the organist, and Joan Bronken will be the cantor. Casketbearers will be Russell Hince, Willard Hince, LeRoy Lynch, Ricky Grove, Jeremy Landreville and Jake Landreville. Military honors will be accorded by the Plummer American Legion Post. Interment will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery at Oklee.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services at the church only. The Petterson Funeral Home of Oklee is in charge of the arrangements.

Ronald James Hince was born on February 26, 1945 at Crookston, the son of Henry and Viola (Riel) Hince. He was raised and educated in Oklee.

He entered the U.S. Navy on August 28, 1964 and was honorably discharged on May 19, 1965.

On November 21, 1964, Ronald was united in marriage to Marlene Mercil at Drayton, N.D. He worked as a carpet layer in the Oklee and Grand Forks, N.D. areas. He owned the Cozy Bar in Brooks for a short while and later worked in the oil fields and mining in Wyoming. In 1994, he returned to Oklee where he has since resided.

He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and playing cards.

Ronald is survived by three sons, Darrell (Kris) Hince of Casper, Wyo., Duane (Jacki) Hince of Warren and Dennis Hince of Mettesse, Wyo.; one daughter, DeAnna Hince of Cody, Wyo.; one grandson; three step grandchildren; one sister, Lucille (Clarence) Christianson of Oklee; one brother, Gerald (JoAnne) Hince of Friendship, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Rollin; and three nephews. A00003B2000MY31
