
Red Lake Falls - Bruce Higinbotham, 79, died Wednesday, November 12, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 15 at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Red Lake Falls with Reverend Sherwood McKay officiating. Carol Thompson was the organist, and special music was provided by the Presbyterian Choir. Burial w ill be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in the spring. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Bruce was born on December 24, 1917 in Red Lake Falls, the son of Victor and Clara Higinbotham. He grew up in Red Lake Falls and attended the local public school. After high school he attended Hamline University in St. Paul. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. After the war he returned to Red Lake Falls.
On December 29, 1945 he was united in marriage to Lois Fellman. Bruce was employed at various jobs throughout his working career and retired in 1976. After retirement he continued to repair small household appliances for people and enjoyed woodworking.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Lois of Red Lake Falls; one son, Richard (Barbara) of Aurora, CO; two daughters, Sue (Don) Mansfield of Flagstaff, AZ and Jan (Dean) LaChance of Wahpeton, ND; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Cliffford, Paul and Maurice; and one sister, Jessie Mullins.
