Lillie Hible, 91

Mora - Lillie Hible, 91, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Sunday, December 12, 1999 at Kanabec County Hospital in Mora.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 16 at Oak Ridge Lutheran Church, rural Thief River Falls, with Rev. Paul Chell officiating. Louise Solseng will be the organist, and Sheri Chell will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Kenneth Asp, Bromley Carr, Kenneth Kalsnes, LaVerne Hamre, Ray Olson, Rodney Helgenset, Duane Vatsaas and Raymond Berg. Honorary casketbearers will be all of Lillie's grandchildren. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Norden township of Pennington county.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, December 15) from 2 to 8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.

Lillie Mae Carr was born on February 11, 1908 in White county near Burnettsville, Indiana. She attended country school near Grassy Butte, ND until the 6th grade and graduated from Dickenson (ND) High School and Dickenson State Teacher's College. She later taught in the Grassy Butte area.

In 1932 she was united in marriage to Francis "Frank" Peter Hible at Grassy Butte, and the couple resided in that area before moving to a farm in Numedal township of Pennington county in 1934 where they raised dairy cattle and grain. Frank died on April 16, 1994. For the past 15 years, Lillie Mae has been a resident of a nursing home.

She was a member of Oak Ridge Lutheran Church and was active in its Ladies Aid. In 1965 Lillie and Frank were named Farmer and Homemaker of the Year.

She enjoyed enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening, especially flowers.

Lillie is survived by one daughter, Mary Lu (Christian) Haugen of Braham; two sons, Benton (Elaine) Hible of Clovis, NM and Roger (Sandra) Hible of Thief River Falls; one sister, Louise Orf of Kildeer, ND; one sister-in-law; 11 grandchildren; and several great and great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons in infancy; and three brothers, Bromley, William and LeRoy Carr. A00003B1999DC15
