
Philadelphia, PA - Raymond J. Hermann, 60, died Wednesday, September 2, 1998 at Pembrooke Nursing Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Services will be held in Philadelphia, PA. Graveside services will be held in Thief River Falls at a later date.
Raymond James Hermann was born on June 2, 1938 in Georgetown, the son of Gena (Brown) and Joseph Hermann. He attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1958.
Ray joined the National Guard and then the U.S. Navy, serving for 20 years and retiring on July 7, 1980. He was a cook.
On June 22, 1968 he was united in marriage to Donna Kalinoski in North Chicago, IL. The couple lived in Guantomo Bay, Cuba and Virginia Beach, VA before moving to Thief River Falls. In 1979 they moved to North Chicago, IL where Donna died on February 13, 1985. Ray returned to Thief River Falls.
He enjoyed fishing with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion and Eagles.
Raymond is survived by one daughter, Margaret Asp of St. Hilaire; one son, Jerome Hermann of Duluth; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; one sister, JoAnne Kling; and his grandparents.
