
Seattle, WA - Evelyn Helgeson, 85, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Sunday, August 8, 1999 in Seattle, WA.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 12 at 1 p.m. at Wiggen and Son's Funeral Home Chapel in Seattle, WA. Interment was in Pacific Lutheran Mausoleum in Seattle.
Evelyn Grindeland was born on March 11, 1914 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Henry and Sarah (Thompson) Grindeland. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and attended school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1932. Following high school she attended Norman Teacher's Training and taught school in Erie.
On October 14, 1934 she was united in marriage to Rudolph Garfield Helgeson.s The couple lived in Devils Lake, ND and Fargo, ND before moving to Seattle, WA where they have since resided.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Diane (Jerold) Ullery of Kirkland, WA and Gayanne (Kurt) Kuhn of San Anselmo, CA; two sons, Robert (Florence) Helgeson of Shoreline, WA and Dennis (Janice) Helgeson of Kent, WA; one brother, Clarence O. Grindeland of Thief River Falls; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rudolph; her parents; five sisters, Anna Johnson, Helma Johnson, Orpha Ryan, Grace Toomey and Sylvia Cost; and three brothers, Gilman Grindeland, Willis Grindeland and Ernest Grindeland.
