Evalyn Heinz-Fowler, 91

Kansas City, MO - Evalyn C. Heinz-Fowler, 91, died Monday, January 31, 2000 at Newark Care Center in Kansas City, MO.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Timothy Bauer officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist. Burial was in the Holt Cemetery.

Evalyn C. Cook was born on June 17, 1908 in Cedar Falls, IA, the daughter of Harry and Grace (Morrow) Cook. She grew up on a farm near Middle River where she attended high school.

She worked at the sanitarium in Crookston where she met her husband Harry Heinz. They were married on May 11, 1930 and made their home in Crookston. Harry died in 1939.

In 1942 Evalyn and her family moved to Kansas City, MO. In May of 1957 she was united in marriage to Paul Fowler. Paul died in 1966. She worked at DeHart Auto Repair and Roadway Express, both in North Kansas City, as an office clerk for 20 years until her retirement in 1967.

She was a life member of First United Methodist Church in North Kansas City. She was also a member of Local 41 Teamsters. She enjoyed history and reading.

Evalyn is survived by three sons, Lowell (Sally) Heinz of Houston, TX, Charles (Nancy) Heinz of Overland Park, KS and Bill (Diane) Heinz of Kansas City, MO; one daughter, Sandra (Joe) Spruytte of Gladstone, MO; one sister, Vera (Ken) Barr of Overland Park, KS; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Frank (Gladys) Heinze of Thief River Falls; and one sister-in-law, Arlene Cook of Thief River Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; one sister, Stella Boese; and one brother, Burton Cook. A00003B2000FB09
