Edith Heden, 66

Thief River Falls - Edith Heden, 66, died Thursday, October 5, 2000 at Valley Elder Care in Grand Forks, N.D.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, October 9, at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls with Rev. Tom Undem officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and the soloist was Joel Kezar. Casketbearers were Walter Hillman, Morris Fimrite, Nathan Peterson, Dwight Peterson, Tim Knutson and Larry Sund. Burial was in Goodridge Cemetery in Goodridge township of Goodridge county.

Edith Delaine Sund was born on July 20, 1934 in Arthur, N.D., the daughter of Axel and Ida (Levang) Sund. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Goodridge. She attended a country school in Espelie township and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1952. Growing up, she lived between Goodridge and Grygla. Following high school, she moved to Duluth where she worked developing photographs for Brown Photo Company. In the mid-1950s, Edith moved to Warren where she worked at Red Owl Grocery Store and also for the Marshall County Clerk of Court.

On September 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Milo Heden at Goodridge. The couple made their home in Lakeville. In 1977, they moved to Oklee where they owned and operated Heden's Hartz Store for nine years. After Milo's death in 1986, Edith moved to Thief River Falls. She had resided for a short time in the CNC Unit at Northwest Medical Center, Good Samaritan Home in Warren and recently, Valley Elder Care in Grand Forks.

Edith is survived by two daughters, Susan Heden of Moorhead and Kimberly Heden of Crookston; two sons, Darryl Heden of Bemidji and David Heden of St. Hilaire; three grandchildren; a brother, Ronald (Cathy) Sund of Hesperia, Calif.; two sisters, Eileen (Walter) Hillman of Warren and Wylma (Earl) Allen of Minot, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and a brother, Richard Sund. A00003B2000OC11
