Thilda Hedeen, 88

Thief River Falls - Thilda Hedeen, 88, died at her home in Thief River Falls on Friday, July 4, 1997.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8 at Abundant Life Church with Rev. Wesley Langaas officiating. Bev Kays was the organist, and special music was provided by Rev. Terry Cuppett. Casketbearers were Don Hanson, Dale Hanson, Steve Anich, Jason Burstad, Bruce Burstad, Scott Bergdahl, Fred Hartmann and Corey Burstad. Burial was in Ekelund Lutheran cemetery in rural Goodridge. Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Thilda Stolaas was born May 18, 1909 in Deer Park township, Pennington County to the late Syver and Berget (Berg) Stolaas. As a young girl, she attended the Pleasant View school in Deer Park township. She was baptized in a log cabin and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Oak Park Lutheran Church. Thilda was united in marriage to Gilbert Burstad on February 14, l929 in Goodridge. The couple farmed in Star township, Pennington County for 12 years before moving west of Goodridge where they continued to farm. Gilbert passed away November 7, 1978. Thilda was united in marriage to Cliff Hedeen on January 19, 1982 in Thief River Falls. He passed away July 13, 1988. Thilda continued to live in Thief River Falls until her death.

Thilda is survived by three sons, Robert (Lois) of Thief River Falls, Greg (Lynn) of Duluth, Terry (Mary Jo) of Ham Lake; three daughters, Eunice Hanson of Thief River Falls, Ione DeBauche of Oakdale and Ordell (Del) Bergdahl of Thief River Falls; 18 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; several great grandchildren; one sister, Inga Hendrickson of Thief River Falls; one brother, Olaf (Clara) Stolaas of Oklee; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; two sons, Rueben and Gordon; one daughter, Ruby; one sister, Gunda Myrum and one brother, Bernt Stolaas.
