River Falls - Clairebel Hayes, 83, died Tuesday, August 15, 2000
at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Gary Johnson officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and Diane Johnson was the soloist. Casketbearers were Les Kulseth, Virgil Erickson, Dennis Erickson and Donald Erickson. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls. Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Clairebel Doris Erickson was born on October 7, 1916 near Alvarado in Marshall county, the daughter of Theodore and Gertrude (Hallin) Erickson. She grew up and attended school in Warren and Newfolden, graduating from Warren High School in 1935.
On September 6, 1935, she was united in marriage to George F. Hayes at Northome. The couple lived in Big Falls from 1935 until 1944 when they moved to Thief River Falls where Clairebel raised her children and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Cleo Busbee of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one son, James Hayes of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; one brother, Earl Erickson of Thief River Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
Clairebel was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and three brothers, Dean, Roy and Willard Erickson. A00003B2000AG23
