Clenore Hayek, 90

Halma - Clenore Hayek, 90, died Friday, August 4, 2000 at her home in Halma.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, August 7, at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma with Rev. Gary Halverson officiating. Kirstin Olson was the organist, and the soloist was Kathy Englund. Casketbearers were Lee Folland, Jeffrey Folland, Kyle Folland and Axel Korsmoe. Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery in Anoka. Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad was in charge of the arrangements.

Clenore Isabel Olson was born on July 13, 1910 at Hatton, N.D., the daughter of Carl and Ildrid (Erstad) Olson. She grew up in Hatton, graduating from high school there in 1928. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. After attending Normal School in Mayville, N.D., she taught school in North Dakota.

In 1933, Clenore was united in marriage to Henry Hayek. The family resided in Minneapolis before moving to Andover. Clenore resumed her teaching career and taught for many years in the Andover, Spring Lake Park and Anoka-Hennepin school districts. She retired in 1971. Henry died in 1975, and in 1976, Clenore moved to Halma to make her home with her son, Charles.

She was a member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church of Halma and a charter member of Halma's Senior Citizens group.

Clenore is survived by one son, Charles of Halma; one daughter, Ruth (LeRoy) Brown of Elk River; one sister, Amelia Eidem of Blackduck; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Henry David in infancy; and two sisters, Olga Nelson Toso and Ruth Livedalen. A00003B2000AG09
