Clarence Haugland, 89

Greenbush - Clarence Haugland, 89, died Thursday, March 26, 1998 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 30, 1998 at the Gieseke Funeral Chapel in Greenbush with Pastor Ernie Christensen officiating. Joan Haugen was the organist, and Marie Olson was the vocalist. Casketbearers were Ronnie Skogstad, Lloyd Skogstad, Leon Deutch, Milton Sylskar, and David and Claudia Danielson. Burial was in Lundeby Cemetery, rural Karlstad. The Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush was in charge of the arrangements.

Clarence Haugland was born on February 21, 1909 in Karlstad, the son of Martin and Tillie Haugland. He grew up at Karlstad and attended school there. Clarence farmed at Karlstad and also worked on the west coast for several years. At one time, he was in the gravel business in Marshall county. He had lived at International Falls before moving to Greenbush a few years ago. For the past two years, he was a resident of the Greenbush Nursing Home.

Clarence is survived by two sisters, Grace Danielson of Karlstad and Ruth Skogstad of International Falls; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Edith Sylskar and Rose Zarling.
