Ida Haugen, 90

Thief River Falls - Ida Haugen, 90, died Tuesday, July 22, 1997 at her home in rural Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 26 at Nazareth Lutheran Church, rural Trail with Reverend Daniel Faugstad officiating. Grace Hammer served as the organist and soloist. Reverend Robert Dahlen played the trumpet. Casketbearers were Brian Johnson, Bruce Burstad, Keith Haugen, Steven Haugen, Elaine Goodman, Mark Hawk, Mishawn Shaske and Bradley Johnson. Burial was at Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery in Hickory township, Pennington County. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Ida Mostrom was born April 23, 1907 at Neptune to John and Helen (Arveson) Mostrom. She attended school in Hickory township, Pennington County and was baptized and confirmed in Little Oak Lutheran Church. Ida was united in marriage to Arnold Haugen on November 23, 1925 at Thief River Falls. The couple lived in Bemidji for one year and returned to Hickory township where they farmed until Arnold passed away in 1995. Since then, she has resided at her home, on her daughter's farm in rural Thief River Falls.

Ida is survived by one son, Orrin (Janice) Haugen of Hibbing; five daughters, Ardith Kloth, Lois (Robert) Burstad, Linda (Alan) Homme, all of Thief River Falls, Sharron (Gary) Johnson of Goodridge and Edna (Roy) Hawk of Issaquah, WA; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest (Lorraine) Mostrom of Trail; one sister, Clara Peterson of Trail; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Haugen of Parkville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; her parents; one son Floyd in 1985; two daughters, Grace in 1930 and Fern in 1956; one grandson, Chad Homme; son-in-law, John Kloth; sisters, Hilma Wilson, Cora Oftelie, Ruth Wilson, Myrtle Gulseth and one sister in infancy; and brothers, William, Albert and Orben Mostrom.
