St. Hilaire - Gwen Hanson, 52, died Monday, October 16, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services
will be held at 
10:30 a.m. on
Friday, October 20, at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire with
Rev. Terri Cuppett officiating. Special music will be provided by
Rev. Cuppett. Casketbearers will be Harvey Hanson, Duwayne Hanson,
Robbi Peterson, Mike Olson, Lee Lilja and Shawn Bugge. Interment will
be in Community Cemetery in River Falls township of Pennington
county.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
Gwendolyn Rae Haugen was born on December 15, 1947 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Raymond and Gladys (Hoaas) Haugen. She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church. Gwen attended elementary school in St. Hilaire and high school in Thief River Falls, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1966. Following high school, she attended school in Thief River Falls to become a beautician and then worked at LeMoine Beauty Shop in Thief River Falls for a short time.
On January 13, 1968, Gwen was united in marriage to Lyle I. Hanson at Calvary Lutheran Church. She went into business, opening Gwen's Beauty Shop in St. Hilaire. She worked at K-mart in Thief River Falls, retiring from her job there after 19 years. In February of 1998, she started working in the embroidery department at Arctic Cat, continuing her employment there until the time of her death.
She enjoyed working with flowers, puzzles, knitting, sewing, crocheting and spending time with family and friends.
She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Gwen is survived by her husband, Lyle of St. Hilaire; a daughter, Kimberly (Robbi) Peterson of Middle River; two sons, Patric Hanson and Aric Hanson, both of St. Hilaire; three grandchildren; her father, Raymond Haugen of Thief River Falls; her mother-in-law, Anna Hanson of Thief River Falls; a brother, Gary Hanson of Thief River Falls; a sister, Jackie (Mike) Olson of Thief River Falls; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Haugen on May 1, 2000. A00003B2000OC18
