
Bemidji - Eva C. Hanson, 84, died Thursday, October 1, 1998 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 3 at 2 p.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Bemidji. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji. The Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Eva Caroline Elg was born on August 23, 1914 in Erie, MN, the daughter of Carl Otto and Eva (Payne) Elg. She attended school in Erie, Goodridge and Bemidji, graduating from Bemidji High School. She lived and helped on the family farm.
On October 18, 1936 she married Earl Rhine Hanson in Brainerd. The couple lived in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota before moving to Bemidji in 1945. She worked at Woolworths in Bemidji. Earl died on February 2, 1998.
Eva is survived by two daughters, Phyllis (Carl) Anderson of Princeton and Mercein Ferdig of Bemidji; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, Carl Elg of Goodridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; five half sisters; and four half brothers.
