Harold Hall, 63

Newfolden - Harold Hall, 63, died Sunday, March 16, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls. Arrangements were with Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 20 at Our Saviour's Free Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Randy Moe officiating. Burial was in Rindal Cemetery of New Solum Township, Marshall County.

Casketbearers were Darren Hall, Steven Hall, Mark Johnson, Neil Erickson, Lance Erickson, Kerry Erickson, Mark Erickson and Jon Reichel. Honorary casketbearers were Harlan Bakke, Roy Bakke, John Hellquist, Rolland Hellquist, William Good, Bert Kron, Wendell Jorgenson, Darrell Bakke, David Bakke and Raymond Bakke.

Harold Gordon Hall was born on September 29, 1933 in Thief River Falls, the son of the late John and Myrtle (Bakke) Hall. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith on October 9, 1938 and confirmed on May 30, 1948 at Rindal Lutheran Church. He attended Busy Bee School and Holt Elementary school. On April 17, 1971 he was united in marriage to Jill Karen Erickson in Thief River Falls. He entered the United States Army on December 13, 1956 and was Honorably Discharge on December 12, 1958. He was a life long farmer on the family farm in New Solum township, Marshall County where he raised and worked primarily in livestock. Harold served one term as a supervisor on the New Solum Town Board.

He enjoyed wood cutting, hunting, listening to old time music, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by wife Jill; children Gordon Hall of Thief River Falls, Karen Hall of Moorhead, and Randine and Brian Hall, both at home; brother Larry (Ashlyn) Hall of Minot, ND; and sister Marlys (Dennis) Erickson of Red Lake Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
