Janet Haider, 59

Thief River Falls - Janet Haider, 59, died Friday, November 27, 1998 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 1 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls with Father Dennis Wieland officiating. Jeff Liden was the soloist. Casketbearers were Mike Beedy, Mark Beedy, Craig Beedy, Mike Ekdahl, Daniel Ekdahl, Kent Brevik, Kevin Brevik and Ron Pilcher. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery in Thief River Falls. The Green Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Janet Faye Brevik was born on August 25, 1939 in Greenbush, the daughter of Willard and Agnes (Spilde) Brevik. She was confirmed at Oslo Lutheran Church in Kennedy and graduated from Karlstad High School. She attended Northwest Technical School and graduated as a licensed practical nurse.

On April 22, 1961 she was united in marriage to Philip Haider. She worked as an LPN at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls for 40 years in the medical surgical and obstetric departments and in the mental health unit.

Janet was a member of the Northwest Medical Center Association, LPN Association and American Legion Auxiliary of Thief River Falls.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, doing craft work, and spending time with family and friends.

Janet is survived by her husband, Phil of Thief River Falls; her mother, Agnes Brevik of Karlstad; two sisters, Beverly Ekdahl of Lake Bronson and Eileen (Neil) Thiessen of Roseau; two brothers, Roger (Francis) of Phoenix, AZ and Merle (Fern) of Red Lake Falls; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willard Brevik, and one brother-in-law.
