Rita Hagl, 60

Red Lake Falls - Rita Hagl, 60, died Monday, December 22, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held today, Wednesday, December 24 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Gary LaMoine officiating. Polly Beyer will be the organist with special music provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Casketbearers will be Daniel Hagl, John Hagl, James Hagl, Marvin Hagl, Tim Barry and Paul McGlynn. All of Rita's nieces and nephews will be honorary casketbearers. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held Tuesday, December 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and one hour prior to services at the church.

Rita Marie Huot was born on November 26, 1937 in Crookston, the daughter of Ernest and Emma (Benoit) Huot. She was raised and schooled at Huot. She graduated from Lafayette High School in Red Lake Falls.

On August 13, 1955 Rita was united in marriage to Kenneth J. Hagl at Dorothy. She worked at a law office and at the Minnesota Wheat Growers office in Red Lake Falls.

She enjoyed gardening, handiwork and cards. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls and the Catholic Daughters.

Rita is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Red Lake Falls; four sons, Daniel, John (Theresa Columbus) and Marvin (Tina), all of Red Lake Falls and James (Angie) of Plymouth; three daughters, Rebecca (James) Barry of Thief River Falls and Sally McGlynn and Patricia (Greg) Berberena, both of East Grand Forks; 11 grandchildren; her mother-in-law, Mable (Paul) Hagl; one brother, Thomas Huot of Huot; six sisters, Lillian (John) Griener of Red Lake Falls, Mae Gjerstad of Huot, Patricia Ruth of Red Lake Falls, Jean Beyer of Dorothy and Dolores (Bud) Glass and Sharon Benoit, both of Red Lake Falls; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, John and Ernest Huot.
