Lowell Gustafson, 77

Warren - Lowell W. Gustafson, 77, died Thursday, May 11, 2000 at North Valley Health Center in Warren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Lowell Gustafson color Monday, May 15 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Warren. Mil-itary honors were accorded by Warren American Legion Post 27. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Warren with the Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Lowell Gustafson was born on November 16, 1922 at Viking, the son of Axel and Minnie (Engen) Gustafson. He was baptized on December 28, 1922 and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking. He attended Ridgeview School in Viking township and graduated from Newfolden High School in 1940. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1946, serving in Germany with the Special Investigative Services.

On October 23, 1948, he was united in marriage to Betty Rud at Zion Lutheran Church in Viking. The couple made their home in Warren where he worked for the Warren Creamery, Fillipi Truck Lines, Warren Seed and Grain Elevator and Minn-Dak Specialty Seeds in Grand Forks, N.D. as a mill operator. In retirement, he refinished furniture until he became ill.

Lowell is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Jeffrey of Warren and Kent of Plymouth; one grandson; two step grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Beverly Halvorson of Crystal; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.
