Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 9 at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire with Rev. Terri Cuppett officiating. Special music will be provided by Rev. Cuppett. Casketbearers will be Mike Gustafson, Ray Fisher, Jim Gunstad, Gordon Haats, Russ Jesperson and Brian Schneider. Honorary casketbearers will be Neal's grandchildren, Rebecca Williams, Madeline Williams, Austin Gasseling and Katlin Gasseling. Interment with military honors will be in Community Cemetery in St. Hilaire.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, November 8) at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Neal Ray Gudmundson was born on March 26, 1951 at Crookston, the son of Gilbert and Leaona (Bratten) Gudmundson. He grew up and attended school in Idaho and enlisted in the U.S. Army.

On January 26, 1973, he was united in marriage to Debra Lynn Haugen in Idaho Falls, Idaho where the couple made their home. They moved to Grand Forks, N.D. where they lived for several years before moving to Irregon, Ore. where they resided for several years. While living in North Dakota and Idaho, Neal drove for Beacon's Trucking. In 1995, they moved to their current home in Wyandotte township of Pennington county. For the past five years, Neal had driven truck for Hartz Trucking. Debra died on June 5, 1999.

Survivors include two daughters, Nicole (Derek) Williams of Jacksonville, Fla. and Trishia (Patrick) Gasseling of Wapato, Wash.; a son, Aaron Gudmundson of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; four grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Lars) Duckstad of Mentor, Juanita Gudmundson of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Lolita Gudmundson of Redding, Calif.; and two brothers, Clayton (Sheila) Gudmundson of Ukiah, Ore. and Gilbert Gudmundson of Redding, Calif.

Neal was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a sister, Bertha Gudmundson; and a brother, Guy Lewis Gudmundson. A00003B2000NV11
