Debra Gudmundson, 48

Plummer - Debra L. Gudmundson, 48, died Saturday, June 5, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Wednesday, June 9) at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire with Reverend Terri Cuppett officiating. Deb Holmgren will be the organist, and Terri Cuppett will be the soloist. Casketbearers will be Lee Duckstad, Jim Gunstad, Gordon Haats, Gary Halvorson, Russell Jasperson and Brian Schneider. Burial will be in Community Cemetery in St. Hilaire.

Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.

Debra Lynn Haugen was born on December 13, 1950 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of Oliver and Mildred (Hoaas) Haugen. She was baptized and confirmed at Calvary Lutheran Church in St. Hilaire. She attended elementary school in St. Hilaire and graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1967. Following high school, Debra attended vocational school in Thief River Falls for one year and then moved to California where she attended school for a short time.

On January 26, 1973 Debra was united in marriage to Neal Gudmundson in Idaho Falls, ID where the couple made their home. They moved to Grand Forks, ND where they lived for several years and then to Irrogon, OR where they also lived for several years. In 1995, Debra and Neal moved to their current home in Wyandotte township of Pennington county.

She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and AMVETS Auxiliary. She enjoyed crocheting and loved animals, taking care of horses, dogs, cats, chickens, cows, ducks and geese.

Debra is survived by her husband, Neal of Plummer; two daughters, Nicole (Derek) Williams of Japan and Trishia (Patrick) Gasseling of El Paso, TX; one son, Aaron Gudmundson of North Carolina; three grandchildren; two sisters, Gloria Ackerman of Colfax, WA and Marilyn (Ray) Fisher of Plummer; one brother, Ted Haugen of Longview, TX; one brother-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Marlys in infancy and Marge in 1996; grandparents, Oscar and Minnie Haugen and Martin and Emma Hoaas; and one brother-in-law, Bud Ackerman.
