Moorhead - Laura Grimley, 82, died Thursday, June 11, 1998 at Moorhead Healthcare Center.
Funeral services were held on Monday, June 15 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. Burial was in Moorhead Memorial Gardens. The Korsmo Funeral Chapel of Moorhead was in charge of the arrangements.
Laura Hannah Johnson was born on October 21, 1915 at Thief River Falls, the daughter of Martin and Minnie (Bisbing) Johnson. She grew up in Goodridge.
On October 15, 1935 she was united in marriage to Clarence Grimley at Thief River Falls. The couple made their home and farmed in the Goodridge area. In 1952 the couple and their children moved to Moorhead where Laura worked for Fargo Laundry and later Bon Valet Laundry in Fargo, ND, until her retirement in 1978.
After Clarence died on January 2, 1990, Laura continued to live in the family's home in Moorhead until 1996 when she moved to Park View Terrace in Moorhead. In April 1998, she became a resident of Moorhead Healthcare Center.
Laura is survived by two sons, Clayton (Donna) of Dilworth and Larry of Moorhead; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Esther Lindquist of Thief River Falls, Agnes Parnow of Goodridge, Eileen (Jim) Salveson of Wisconsin, and Betty Thompson and Mabel Halverson, both of Washington; and two brothers, Lloyd (Virginia) Johnson of California and Roy Johnson of Washington.
In addition to her husband, Clarence, Laura was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Marlene; and one brother, Harold.
