Thief River Falls - Lucy Marie Griley, 61, died Friday, October 24, 1997 at her residence in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held today, Wedesday, October 29 at 10:30 a.m. at Green Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Tim Bauer officiating. Joel Kezar will provide the special music. Visitation will be for one hour prior to services at the home. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
Lucy Marie Early was born on October 21, 1936 in Manitou, OK, the daughter of Sam and Dora Early. She was educated in Oklahoma and Texas.
On March 14, 1967 she was united in marriage to George Griley. Following their marriage the couple lived in Norwalk, La Mirada and Buena Park, CA. Lucy worked as a waitress for several restaurants and also at Printronix in Irvine, CA. George died in l993, and Lucy moved to Thief River Falls in December of 1995.
She enjoyed dancing and traveling to Las Vegas, NV. She was very independent and faithful to her friends.
Lucy is survived by her parents; four children, Edwina (Mark) Kibbe of Anaheim, CA, Erwin Stanscheit of Mastic Beach, NY, January (Jeff) Widing of Thief River Falls and Erick (Debbie) Stanscheit of Anaheim, CA; five sisters, Netti Clark of Warren, OH, Vera Smith of Fountain, CO, Kathy Seufert of Forest Hill, NY, Nell Early of Amarillo, TX and Gaye (Richard) Jalbert of Hesperia, CA; and six brothers, Russell Early of Amarillo, TX, Sammy (Brenda) Early of Rifle, CO, Kirby Early of Hope, ID, Mac Early of Asheville, NC, Rodney Early of Tyler, TX and Lou Early of Asheville, NC.
She was preceded in death by her husband George.
