Mabel Gran, 90
Hallock - Mabel Gran, 90, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 2 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock with Rev. Erling Huglen officiating. Music was provided by organist Daniel Pederson and Jillayne Kraska, soloist. Casketbearers were Gordon Bernstrom, John Wayne Anderson, Danny Blomquist, Charles Anderson, Duane Nordling and Elwood Carlson. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Hallock. The Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of the arrangements.
Mabel Bernstrom was born on July 4, 1909 near Hallock, the daughter of Emil and Caroline Bernstrom. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school.
On June 23, 1940 she was united in marriage to Orrin Gran at Hallock, and the couple settled in Thompson township of Kittson county where they farmed for many years. Orrin died on December 27, 1980.
Mabel was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, WELCA and the Two River Homemakers Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Corrine (Arthur) Lund of Bidwell, OH and Dianne (David) Hoglin of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; one sister, Irene Luft of Laguna Hills, CA; and one brother, Grant (Terry) Bernstrom of Port Richey, FL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin; parents; one brother, Freddie; and two sisters, Edna and Estelle. A00003B1999OT06
