
Lake Bronson
- Gordon L. Grahn, 71, died Sunday, October 15, 2000 at Fairview
University Hospital in Minneapolis.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 19, at Community Covenant Church in Lake Bronson. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Military honors were accorded by Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion Post 315. Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of the arrangements.
Gordon L. Grahn was born on June 15, 1929 in Hallock, the son of Erick and Lillie (Strom) Grahn. He was baptized in the Covenant Church and grew up in Lake Bronson, graduating from Lake Bronson High School in 1947. He served with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.
On July 7, 1956, Gordon was united in marriage to Adeline Ekholm at Lake Bronson. The couple settled in Lake Bronson, and Gordon worked at Danielson's Garage for 17 years before buying the family farm. He raised cattle and also worked at the Mark Prosser farm for nine years. He retired in 1994.
Gordon was a volunteer fireman in Lake Bronson for 30 years and had served as fire chief. He was also a member of the Kennedy VFW and American Legion Post 315 where he had served as commander and chaplain.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline; a son, Denal (Lynn) Grahn of Thief River Falls; a daughter, Lynette (Michael) Taylor of Deerwood; four grandchildren; a sister, Eldora (LeRoy) Shelquist of Dahlen, N.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Warren, Lawrence and Norman. A00003B2000OC25
