Kirk Giannonatti, 42

Mentor - Kirk Giannonatti, 42, died Thursday, April 20, 2000 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.

Mass of Christian burial was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 24 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor with Monsignor Roger Grundhaus and Father Gerald Noesen concelebrating. Casketbearers were F. Sion Giannonatti, Lin Giannonatti, Greg Bossuyt, Ryan Ellefson, Tony Derosier, Richard Olson, Stephen Genereux and Bryan Kalinoski. Honorary casketbearers included members of the Mentor Volunteer Fire Department, staff of Paradis, Inc. of Brooks and his nieces and nephews. Burial was in the parish cemetery at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mentor. The Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Service of Fosston was in charge of the arrangements.

Kirk Andrew Giannonatti was born on May 17, 1957 in Rapid City, S.D., the son of Forrest and Patricia (Flathers) Giannonatti. He attended elementary school in Crookston and then moved to Mizpah. He graduated from Northome High School in 1975. He attended Northwest Technical College in Thief River Falls.

On October 13, 1979, he was united in marriage to Katherine Genereux at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Terrebonne. Kirk worked for Flaat Farms in Fisher, Fairview Farm Service in Green Valley and Mobil Power of Lebanon, N.J. For the past 15 years, he had driven mail truck for Paradis, Inc. of Brooks.

Kirk enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends.

He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Mentor Volunteer Fire Department where he served as a volunteer fireman and First Responder.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Kathy; three daughters, Heather, Jessica and Juliette, all at home; one son, Marshall, at home; his parents, Forrest and Patricia Giannonatti of Mentor; three sisters, Roxann (Paul) Mitchell of Hackettstown, N.J. and Reathel Giannonatti and Terrill (Tom) Bradford, both of Mentor; two brothers, F. Sion (Belinda "Sue") Giannonatti of Mentor and Lin (Laurie) Giannonatti of Wannaska; and one aunt.
