
Red Lake Falls - Laura Gagnon, 95, died Monday, March 6, 200 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Polly Beyer was the organist, and special music was provided by St. Joseph's Church Choir. Tim Gagnon was the reader. Casketbearers were Harold Derosier, Elmer Derosier, Andrew Derosier, Jerry Laundry, Tony Gagnon and Tim Gagnon. Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Terrebonne. The Petterson Funeral Home of Red Lake Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Laura Mary Gagnon was born on September 27, 1904 at Terrebonne, the daughter of Regis and Lumina (St. Yves) Gagnon. She grew up near Terrebonne and was educated at Badger Creek School. In 1939, she moved into Terrebonne with her parents. In 1970, she moved to Sunset Court in Red Lake Falls and since 1995 has resided at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Red Lake Falls.
She was a seamstress all of her life. She was active at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Terrebonne and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls.
Laura enjoyed crocheting and playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, including Harold and Jeanette Derosier and Vernon and Val Gagnon, all of Red Lake Falls.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, George Gagnon, Ernest Gagnon and Harvey Gagnon; and three sisters, Lumina Laundry, Felicia Derosier and Sister Lillian Gagnon CSJ. A00003B2000MR15
