
Fosston - Sally Fowlds, 76, died Sunday, July 5, 1998 at First Care Hospital in Fosston.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 9 at 2 p.m. at Kingo Lutheran Church in Fosston with Pastor Steve Weston officiating. Interment will be in Kingo Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today (Wednesday, July 8) with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home in Fosston.
Celestine "Sally" Irene Snustad was born September 16, 1921 to Oscar and Inga Marie (Evenson) Snustad in Sletten township of Polk county where she grew up and attended rural school. She was baptized and confirmed at Dovre Free Lutheran Church in Winger. She graduated from McIntosh High School in 1941. After high school, Sally worked as a secretary for L.B. Hartz in Thief River Falls for several years.
On September 11, 1949 Sally was united in marriage to Donald W. Fowlds at Dovre Free Lutheran Church in Winger. They resided in Thief River Falls until 1965 when they moved to Fosston. Sally worked as a bookkeeper at the Fosston Municipal Hospital from 1970 until her retirement in 1987.
She was a member of Kingo Lutheran Church and Faith Circle. Sally enjoyed quilting, cross stitching and sewing and especially her family, friends and three grandchildren. She was a volunteer for hospice and First Care Nursing Home in Fosston.
Sally is survived by her husband, Don who resides at First Care Nursing Home; three sons, Charles of Grangeville, ID, James (Janelle) of Detroit Lakes and Thomas (Tana) of Grand Junction, CO; three grandchildren; three sisters, Anna (Bill) Carlson of Winger, Marge Scheftel of Excelsior and Mabel (Frank) Dorn of Lubbock, TX; one brother, Robert (Phyllis) of New Hope; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one infant son, Bruce.
