Keough Fournier, 79

Chinook, MT - Keough R. Fournier, 79, formerly of the Terrebonne area, died Sunday, May 2, 1999 at Northern Montana Hospital in Havre, MT.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Terrebonne with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Val Gagnon will be the organist, and special music will be provided by St. Anthony's Church choir. Cindy Novak will be the reader. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 7, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and also for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Keough Fournier was born on April 20, 1920 in Red Lake Falls, the son of Henry and Leah (LaCoursiere) Fournier. He attended school in Terrebonne and at the age of 17 joined the Civilian Conservation Corps for three years.

Keough married Lillian Brekke on August 19, 1942 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Terrebonne. The couple moved to Kelso, WA that year where Keough worked at a paper mill during World War II. They returned to Minnesota where Keough bought a farm and also spent 18 years working on road construction. He was also employed for a number of years at Arctic Enterprises in Thief River Falls. After he was diagnosed with cancer in 1987, Keough and Lillian continued to live on the farm until they moved to Chinook, MT in 1995 to be near their son.

Keough is survived by his wife Lillian of Chinook, MT; one son, Keough Fournier Jr., also of Chinook; one granddaughter; one sister, Delores Siebel of Chinook; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lawrence Fournier. A00003B1999MY05
