
Fargo, ND - Percy L. Foss died Friday, September 3, 1999 at Rosewood on Broadway in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11 at 11 a.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, ND. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro.
Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 10 with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro, ND. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
Percy L. Foss was born on March 30, 1911 at Halstad, the son of Martin and Petra (Smith) Foss. He grew up on a farm near Caledonia ND. After attending school in Caledonia, he worked on area farms.
On November 7, 1934 he was united in marriage to Luella Marie Lian at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead. The couple farmed in the Caledonia area and then purchased a farm near Cummings, ND in 1939. They lived there until 1952 when they purchased a larger farm nearby. After retiring from farming, Percy continued to live on the farm until 1996 when the couple moved to Fargo, ND. From 1956 until 1989, Percy and Luella spent their winters in Naples, FL. After that they wintered in Mission, TX until 1994. For the past year, Percy had been a resident of Rosewood.
He was a member of the Cummings school board and a lifetime member of the Mayville, ND Eagles.
Percy is survived by his wife, Luella; two sons, Gerald (Geraldine) of Ham Lake and Arlin (Ann) of Fargo, ND; one brother, Russell of Mayville, ND; one sister, Verna (Wilmer) Vinje of Mayville, ND; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Rude in 1960; an infant daughter, Marsha in 1944; his parents; and two brothers, Mentor and Wesley. A00003B1999SP08
