Erick Flod, 83

ÝÝÝStillwater - Erick Lewis Flod, formerly of Radium and Viking, died at his home in rural Stillwater on August 16, 2004, following a courageous battle with Alzheimerís and Parkinsonís diseases.

ÝÝÝA memorial service was held at Christ Lutheran Church in Marine on the St. Croix River on Saturday, Aug. 21.

ÝÝÝErick Flod was born in Warren on September 4, 1920, the son of Erik and Lottie Flod. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was honorably discharged and worked as a superintendent at Stillwater State Penitentiary .

ÝÝÝErick retired from the Stillwater State Prison in 1976.

ÝÝÝSurvivors include his wife of 58 years, Audrey (Paulson); his daughter, Karine (fiance Gary Purdah) Norton; sons, Michael (Pauline), David (Wendy) and Robert, all of Stillwater; Paul of San Francisco, Calif. ; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arlene and Joan of Washington state.

ÝÝÝHe was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lloyd; and one sister, Phyllis.
