Doris G. Etienne, 72

International Falls - Doris G. Etienne, 72, died Saturday, September 11, 1999 at her home in International Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday, September 15) at Zion Lutheran Church in International Falls with Rev. Paul A. Baker officiating. Vocalist Marlene Larson will be accompanied by Karen Long on the piano. Donna Belanger will be the organist. Casketbearers will be Albert Long, Ronald Long, Kenneth Long, Ted Etienne, Michael Revak and Harry Pryzbylski. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in International Falls.

Visitation will be held for one hour prior to services with the Mlaker Funeral Home of Cook in charge of the arrangements.

Doris G. Strand was born on April 18, 1927 at Fergus Falls, the daughter of George and Delores (Qualey) Strand.

On July 31, 1946 she was united in marriage to Marcell J. Etienne at International Falls. While Doris lived in several cities and states, she always considered International Falls to be home.

She was a member of Alma Lutheran Church of Argyle and was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and quilting and had an avid interest in camping, gardening and birdwatching.

Doris is survived by four sons, Larry (Jeanette) of Plummer, Duane of Minneapolis, Chuck of International Falls, and Bruce (Rebecca) of Minneapolis; two daughters, Connie Etienne and Linda (Dennis) Long, both of International Falls; two sisters, Myrna (Ronald) Lawrence of Grygla and Violet Klein of Thief River Falls; one son-in-law, Stan Long of Ray; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marcell on October 9, 1997; parents; one sister, Elvina Sletten; and five brothers, Reuben Strand and Junior, Raymond, David and Wallace Larson. A00003B1999SP15
