Marcell Etienne, 71

Plummer - Marcell Etienne, 71, died Thursday, October 9, 1997 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held Monday, October 13 at 2 p.m. at the Alma Lutheran Church of rural Argyle. Burial was in the church cemetery. The Quanrud-DuBore Funeral Home of Warren was in charge of the arrangements.

Marcell John Etienne was born November 6, 1925 in International Falls, the son of Charles and Millie (Whitney) Etienne. He spent his early years in the International Falls area. On July 30, 1946, he was united in marriage to Doris Strand in International Falls. They made their home in International Falls and Minneapolis. In 1981, they moved to Warren. Marcell worked in construction and was an over the road trucker for many years. He worked at the Thief River Falls Golf Club for eight year retiring to Plummer in 1992.

Marcell is survived by his wife, Doris; two daughters, Connie Etienne and Linda (Dennis) Long, both of International Falls; four sons, Larry (Jeannette), Duane and Bruce, all of Plummer, and Sylvester of Fridley; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters; four brothers; and a son-in-law, Stanley Long Sr.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson; four brothers; and one sister.
