Erickson, 66Iowa Falls, IA - Stuart Erickson, 66, died Friday, January 14, 2000 at his home in Iowa Falls, IA.
Funeral services were held on Monday, January 17, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Iowa Falls with Rev. Brian King officiating. Full military rites were provided by Hyman-Peavey Legion Post 188 of Iowa Falls. Interment was in Union Cemetery in Iowa Falls.
Stuart Dorn Erickson was born on May 5, 1933 in Cloquet, the son of Glen and Alice (Phipps) Erickson. He graduated from Cloquet High School and went to Gale Telegraph School in Minnesota. He served as a paratrooper in the 503rd Infantry Regiment from 1953 until 1955.
On November 6, 1955 he married Gladys Ness at Holt. Stuart was a telegraph clerk and agent for the Rock Island Railroad for 30 years.
He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Hyman-Peavey American Legion Post 188 and Masons Home Lodge 192 of Iowa Falls.
Stuart is survived by his wife, Gladys; three sons, Brian (Diane) and Mark (Susan), both of Belmond, IA, and Scott (Connie) of Garner, IA; seven grandchildren; and one brother, Dale Erickson of Duluth. He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Orlin Ness of Holt.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Alan.
