- Ricky Ellingson, 54, died Saturday, December 2,
2000.
Private services were held with William Downs-LeSage Funeral Home assisting with the arrangements. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery's Veteran's Memorial Park.
Ricky Lynn Ellingson was born on March 14, 1946 in Thief River Falls, the son of Raymond L. and Thelma O. (Bratland) Ellingson. He grew up and attended schools in Superior, Wisc. He attended a two-year vocational school for welding.
Ricky served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Recently, he was employed as a janitor by St. John's University in St. Cloud before returning to Superior due to health reasons.
On December 14, 1996, he was united in marriage to Carol VanHeel.
Ricky was a member of VFW Henry S. Blomberg Post 847 and Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Ellingson of Maple Lake; his parents, Raymond and Thelma Ellingson of Superior; a sister, Norma Nyberg of Superior; two nephews; a grandnephew; three aunts, including Dorothy (Lewis) Quam of Goodridge and Irene Ellingson of Thief River Falls; and several cousins.
