Scottsdale, AZ - Karen K. Ekeren, 53, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Saturday, November 14, 1998 at Osborne Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 21 at Messinger Mortuary in Scottsdale.
Karen K. James was born on March 21, 1945 in Turtle Lake, ND, the daughter of Kato and Eva James. She was raised and attended school in Turtle Lake. After high school, Karen attended the North Dakota State University where she received her bachelor of science degree in nursing.
She worked as a nurse and at various other jobs. Since moving to Arizona she worked as a realtor for Century 21.
Karen is survived by one son, Thane (Kristi) Mundell of Thief River Falls; one daughter, Candace (Kurt) Slettvedt of Bemidji; five grandchildren; her mother, Eva James of Turtle Lake, ND; one sister, Joyce McCabe of Tucson, AZ; and one brother, Larry James of Turtle Lake, ND.
She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Rodrick James.
