
Beverly Ekdahl, 65
Kennedy - Beverly Ekdahl, 65, died Saturday, November 25, 2000 at her home near Kennedy.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28 at Evangelical Mission Covenant Church in Kennedy with Rev. Steve Thompson officiating. Isabelle Kendell was the organist, and the soloist was Bonnie Nordvall. Casketbearers were Virgil Poole, Jim Rickenberg, Bill Nelson, Garfield Erlandson, Dale Klegstad, LaMar Johnson, LeRoy Turn and Severin Spilde. Interment was in Jupiter Mission Cemetery in Kennedy with Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad in charge of the arrangements.
Beverly Ann Brevik was born on November 20, 1935 at Greenbush, the daughter of Willard and Agnes (Spilde) Brevik. She grew up in the Halma and Kennedy communities and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1953.
On December 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Edward "Bobby" Ekdahl at the former Oslo Lutheran Church near Halma. The couple lived and farmed on the Ekdahl family farm in Jupiter township of Kittson county near Kennedy. For 20 years, Bev was employed as a nurse's aid at Karlstad Memorial Hospital. She continued to make her home on the farm after Bobby's death on September 1, 1988.
Bev was an active member of Kennedy Evangelical Mission Covenant Church.
She especially enjoyed spending time at Lake of the Woods with family and friends.
Bev is survived by two sons, Daniel (DeAnn) of Lake Bronson and Michael (Dawn) of Green River, Wy.; five daughters, Shirley (Doug) Fletcher of Rock Springs, Wy., Candace of Lake Bronson, Susie (Greg) Dahlin of Karlstad, Diane (Jon) Dorner of Grand Forks, N.D. and Donna (Dave) Weiby of Rock Springs, Wy.; her mother, Agnes Brevik of Karlstad; 19 grandchildren; a brother, Roger (Francis) Brevik of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Eileen (Neil) Thiessen of Roseau; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; father; a sister, Janet; and a brother, Merle. A00003B2000NV29
