Robert Eidelbes, 76

Tower - Robert Eidelbes, 76, died Saturday, February 12, 2000 at his home in Tower.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today (Wednesday, February 16) at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tower with Rev. LeRoy Holmes and Rev. Arthur Dale officiating.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church. Visitation will also be held today from noon until the time of the service. The Landmark Funeral Home of Virginia is in charge of the arrangements.

Robert Eidelbes was born on December 2, 1923 in Erie, the son of John and Emma (Zavoral) Eidelbes Sr. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Goodridge. On February 22, 1948 he married Edith Stenvik in Goodridge.

Bob farmed in the Goodridge area until moving to Tower in 1953. He worked for several years as a carpenter in the construction trade; worked as a carpenter for Reserve Mining Company and for the State of Minnesota at Camp Ripley. For many years he was self employed as a carpenter, cabinet maker and finisher in the Tower area.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tower; United Steel Workers of America and AFSCME.

Bob is survived by his wife, Edith; two sons, Rod (Mary) Eidelbes of Grand Rapids and Lyle (Tiina) Eidelbes of Lakeville; two daughters, Nancy (Tim) Kotzian of Tower and Deb (Chuck) Cathcart of Lakeville; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, Dorothy (Norris) Trontvet; and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John; one sister, Rose; and two grandchildren, Aaron Kotzian and Robb Eidelbes.
