
Badger - Amanda Edwardson, 90, died Saturday, February 6, 1999 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12 at Rose Lutheran Church in Roseau with Reverend Larry Severson officiating. Interment will be in the Moe-Rose Cemetery, Roseau.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 11 from noon until 7 p.m. at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau. Devotional services will be held at 7 p.m. at the chapel. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
Amanda Knutson was born on July 24, 1908 at Ross in Roseau county, the daughter of Andrew and Mary (Moen) Knutson. She grew up and attended school in the Ross area and later worked in Grand Forks, ND.
In May of 1930 she married Belmer Edwardson in Roseau county. The couple farmed east of Badger until their retirement. Belmer died in 1978. In 1990 Amanda moved to St. Hilaire to be near her daughter. After breaking her hip in 1993, she moved to Thief River Falls where she had since resided.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and caring for her family.
Amanda is survived by four daughters, Blanche (Peter) Goodwin of Great Falls, MT, Jean (Earl) McKinley of Tulsa, OK, Carol (John) Kurtzman of Brainerd and Betty (William) Dormandy of St. Hilaire; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Anne Edwardson of Battle Lake and Inga Wenberg of International Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Dorothy Anderson; her parents; two brothers, Oscar and Knute; and three sisters, Bertha, Olga and Clara.
