
Park Rapids - Roger Eberhardt, 50, died on Saturday, January 31, 1998 at his winter residence in Naples, FL.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, February 6 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Park Rapids with Father Rick Boyd officiating. Helen Fisher was the organist, and music was provided by St. Peter's Choir. Casketbearers were Jim Johnson, Jack Smythe, Jim Theisen, Greg Grover, Earl Benson, Jim Higgins, Peter Collins, Lee Zitzer and Bud Grover. Honorary casketbearers were Roger's family, the Coffee Group and all those who considered him a friend. Burial was held at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. The Green Funeral Home of Thief River Falls was in charge of the arrangements.
Roger Paul Eberhardt was born on June 16, 1947 in Fargo, ND, the son of LeRoy and Marcella (Eidenschink) Eberhardt. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis de Sales in Moorhead. He attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School in 1965. Roger then attended Dakota Business College in Fargo in 1966.
On July 2, 1966 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Landseidel at St. Francis de Sales in Moorhead.
In 1970, Roger moved to Park Rapids with his family and began working for Park Region Aggregate Inc. He became a partner with his brother-in-law in 1977 and purchased the company entirely in 1987. Roger sold his business in 1996. Following their retirement, the couple have made their home in Park Rapids and Naples, FL.
Roger was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Park Rapids, Ducks Unlimited and Jaycees. He was a past member of the Park Rapids Lions and the Eagles Aerie. He enjoyed his family and had a special love for his three grandchildren. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with friends.
Roger is survived by his wife, Cynthia; two sons, James (Karen) Eberhardt of Lakeland and Jeffrey (Stephanie) Eberhardt of Thief River Falls; three grandchildren; mother, Marcella Eberhardt of Detroit Lakes; three brothers, David (Sue) Eberhardt of St. Paul, Gary of Cable, WI and Kevin (Debbie) Eberhardt of Flagstaff, AZ; mother-in-law, Edna Landseidel of Park Rapids; and several cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeRoy; one sister-in-law; and his father-in-law, Adam Landseidel.
