Jamie Dyrdal, 23

Crookston - Jamie Dyrdal, 23, died Sunday, November 9, 1997 near Crookston after being accidentally shot while deer hunting.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 13 at 1 p.m. at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Crookston with the Reverend David Sherry officiating. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday at Oak Ridge Cemetery, rural Thief River Falls.

Vistation will be held today, Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston and at the church for an hour before the funeral.

Jamie Wayne Dyrdal was born February 19, 1974 at Thief River Falls, the son of Lloyd and Myrna (Bakken) Dyrdal. He grew up in Thief River Falls, was baptized at Oak Ridge Lutheran Church, and attended school in Thief River Falls before moving with his family to Crookston in March of 1986. He was confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church and attended Crookston's Central High School as a member of the class of 1992. Jamie was a skilled mechanic, carpenter and welder. Over the past several years he was employed by Plante Farms, Crookston Welding and Luckow Brothers, all of Crookston.

Jamie was an avid hunter and bow hunter. He enjoyed working on cars and spending time with family and friends. He took particular pride in his children, Marissa Dyrdal and Nicholas Becker.

Jamie is survived by his fiance, Brigette Becker of Crookston; his children, Nicholas and Marissa; his mother, Myrna Dyrdal of Crookston; his father, Lloyd Dyrdal of Winona; one sister, Melissa of Bloomington; two brothers, Brent and Tony, both of Crookston; his grandmothers, Gladys Bakken of Thief River Falls and Helen Dyrdal of Winona; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Jason, who died on January 1, 1990; and his grandfathers, Nels Dyrdal and Melvin Bakken.
