Adelheide Duncan, 88

Greenbush - Adelheide R. Duncan, 88, died Tuesday, March 3, 1998 at the Greenbush Nursing Home.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 7 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush with Pastor Ernie Christensen officiating. Joan Haugen was the organist, and special music was provided by Marie Olson. Casketbearers were Terry Howard, Greg Wollin, Vern Langaas, Paul Everson, Alvin Bertilrud and Jim Fugleberg.

Graveside services will be held today (Wednesday, March 11) at 1 p.m. at Pine Grove Cemetery at Cass Lake with Pastor Darwin Schauer officiating. The Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush is in charge of the arrangements.

Adelheide R. Rau was born on July 10, 1909 at Walker, the daughter of Karl and Emma (Kank) Rau. She grew up at Walker and graduated from Walker High School. She also attended Normal School at Walker and taught in various country schools in Cass and Hubbard counties for many years.

On April 3, 1940 Adelheide was united in marriage to Vern Duncan at Walker. They moved to a farm near Cass Lake and lived there for several years. Heidi worked as a clerk at Reuter's Hartz Store in Cass Lake. Vern died in March of 1974, and Heidi moved to Greenbush that fall and has lived there since.

Heidi is survived by one son Peter Duncan and his wife, Patricia Thompson of Greenbush, four grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Herman, Carl, Wilhelm and Frederick; and four sisters, Augusta, Emma, Reinholde and Clara.
