Gertrude Duffield, 84

Boulder, CO - Gertrude Duffield, 84, died Thursday, January 7, 1999 at Boulder, Colorado.

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. on Monday, January 11 at Howe Mortuary Chapel in Boulder. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, January 13) at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO. The Howe Mortuary of Boulder, CO is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Lucille Engelbert was born on May 7, 1914 in Lake Bronson, the daughter of John Arthur and Edith Lillian (Brown) Engelbert. She graduated from Hibbing High School and North Star College in Minnesota.

On January 9, 1938 she was united in marriage to Lee Arthur Duffield in Minneapolis. During World War II she co-owned and managed a men's clothing store in Browns Valley. In 1957 the couple moved to Boulder, CO where she was employed as a sales associate at JC Penney for 18 years. Lee died in July of 1973.

Gertrude was a member of the Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star and Mother's Band Club.

Survivors include one son, John Arthur Duffield of Elizabeth, CO; two daughters, Helen Roe of Boulder, CO, and Diane Holick of Moscow, ID; four grandchildren; and one brother, Gordon Kenneth Engelbert of Boulder, CO.

Gertrude was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
