River Falls - William Dicken, 51, died Friday, December 22,
2000.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today (Wednesday, December 27) at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Casketbearers will be Bradley Brouse, Tony Brouse, Don Berggren, Jon Kruse, Murray Dicken, Bobby Fladeland, Bradley Olson and Art Anderson. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation was held Tuesday, December 26, from 1 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service at Green Funeral Home in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to services at the church.
William Allen Dicken was born on February 16, 1949 in Thief River Falls, the son of William A. and Laura (Cloutier) Dicken. He attended Knox Elementary School and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1967. In 1969, he was united in marriage to Marie Olson. Bill worked for Hartz Wholesale delivering groceries.
On June 25, 1994, he was united in marriage to Meribeth Folkedahl on the Folkedahl family farm in Smiley township of Pennington county. He spent his last six years as a full-time husband, father and grandfather.
Bill enjoyed yard work, spending time with his family and dog Coby, playing bingo at the VFW on Saturday afternoon, taking slow drives through the countryside with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Meribeth; a son, William Aldon (Tami) of Thief River Falls; a daughter, Lisa Marie Dicken of St. Cloud; two stepsons, Scott Reay of Rockford and Brett Reay of Grand Forks, N.D.; a stepdaughter, Staci Reay of Rockford; three grandchildren; a brother, John (Cheryl) of Coon Rapids; three brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
