Eleanor Dicken, 77

Thief River Falls - Eleanor Dicken, 77, died Thursday, May 18, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Funeral services were held at 10 Eleanor Dicken color a.m. on Monday, May 22 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. John Wollenzien officiating. Ida Nordvall was the organist, and the soloist was LeRoy Aasland. Casketbearers were Robert Dicken, Richard Dicken, Donald Dicken, Duane Dicken, Curt Ness and Barry Fellman. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls with Green Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Eleanor Louise Netteland was born on September 25, 1922 at Holt, the daughter of George L. and Elizabeth (Foss) Netteland. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and graduated from Oklee High School. She worked in a government office in Minneapolis during World War II.

She moved to Thief River Falls and worked at Peterson-Biddick where she met Alvin Dicken. Eleanor and Alvin were united in marriage on July 11, 1948 at Trinity Lutheran Church. The couple lived and raised they family in Thief River Falls, and for many years, Eleanor worked with Alvin at Northland Produce.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and was active in Trinity Circle.

Eleanor is survived by four sons, Robert (Connie) Dicken and Richard (Faye) Dicken, both of Thief River Falls, Donald (Trinh) Dicken of Richland, Wash. and Duane (Lonae) Dicken of Drayton, N.D.; six grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin on May 20, 1990; he parents; one sister, Angeline Buerkle; two brothers, Robert Netteland and Loyal Netteland; and one nephew. A00003B2000MY24
