Nora Delage, 93

Brooks - Nora Delage, 93, died on Saturday, August 26, 2000 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks with Father Tim Bushy officiating. Soloist will be Darci Delage. Casketbearers are all of Nora's grandchildren and honorary casketbearers are all of Nora's great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service and Thursday one hour prior to services, all at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks.

Nora Emma Delage was born April 2, 1907 in Gentilly, the daughter of the late Zenophile and Anne (Trepanier) Trudeau. She was raised and educated in the Gentilly area. One November 15, 1926, she was united in marriage to Willie H. Delage in Gentilly. The couple lived in the Brooks area most of their married life. They farmed there and raised a family in Poplar River township. They retired in 1963 and moved to Brooks in 1968. Willie died in November of 1986. Nora has resided at Valley Home in Thief River Falls since December of 1996.

Nora was quite active in all organizations of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, playing cards and singing. Nora also opened her home to several foster children.

She is survived by her children, Duane (Deloris) of White Bear Lake, Harvey (Rose) of Thief River Falls, Yvonne (Daniel) Kosh of Aurora, Madonna (Robert) Polta of Rosemount, Sheldon (Shirley) of Mentor, Richard (Karen) of Brooks, Mary (Gene) Christianson of Franksville, Wisc., Lucille (Bob) Weiss of Oxnard, Calif., Paulette (Larry) Johnson of Rosamond, Calif. and Dianne (Lewis) Westlake of Moorhead; 41 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren, and one daughter-in-law, Joanne Bradley of Brooks.

She was preceded in death by her husband Willie, son Robert, granddaughter Rhonda, great-grandson Joshua and great-granddaughter Sarah Marie.
