
Karlstad - Annabell Davis, 94, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at the Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center in Karlstad.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 3 at Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma with Reverend Gary Halverson officiating. Kirstin Olson was the organist, and Lola Germundson was the soloist. Casketbearers were Don Smith, Duane McNatton, Jim Tuff, Dean McNatton, Arlen Lund and Lowell Nelson. Interment was in Eidsvold Lutheran Cemetery in Halma.
Annabell Mae Smith was born on May 20, 1904 at Minneapolis, the daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Martin) Smith. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the age of 13, Annabell moved with her family to Halma.
On February 6, 1923 she was united in marriage to Ernest W. Davis at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The couple made their home at Halma where Annabell cooked at the Halma School and later at the Karlstad Public School for many years. After Ernest died on June 3, 1952 she continued to make her home in Halma. Since November of 1994 Annabell has resided at the Karlstad Memorial Care Center.
She was a life-long member of Eidsvold Lutheran Church and active in a variety of church activities, including Sunday school and Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Busy Doers Homemakers Club of Halma, Royal Neighbors, Order of the Eastern Star and a charter member of the Halma Senior Citizens group.
Annabell is survived by one son, Ben (Lois) of South Lyons, MI; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Marion Johnson of Karlstad; one daughter-in-law, Coleen Cooley of Blue Springs, MO; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one son, Neil; two sisters, Vivian and Ethel; one brother, Raymond; and two step-sisters, Myrtle and Hazel Flugstad. A00003B1999MY05
