
Cottage Grove -Raymond T. "Ray" Dalton, 68, of Cottage Grove and formerly of Natick, MA, died Sunday, September 6, 1998 in Minneapolis.
Services will be held today (Wednesday, September 9) at 7 p.m. at the Kok Funeral Home in Cottage Grove and on Saturday, September 12 at 11 a.m. at the Doherty-Gately-Loker Funeral Home in Natick, MA.
Raymond T. Dalton was born on November 23, 1929 in Eldred, the son of Walter and Ida (Davis) Dalton. He grew up in the Thief River Falls area and attended Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 until 1952.
On June 29, 1957 he and Doris Siebert were united in marriage. They made their home in Natick, MA. Doris died in August of 1988.
On August 10, 1992 Ray married Jean Steinbach, and they made their home in Cottage Grove.
For a time, Ray did farm work in the Thief River Falls area. He worked for United Parcel Service as a driver, retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Teamster's Union Local 170.
Ray enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Minnesota Chapter G.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; four sons, Richard (Paula) of Natick, MA, David (Angela) of Plymouth, Wayne (Carleen) Peterson of Monticello and Christian Peterson of St. Paul; two daughters, Lisa (John) DeArcangelis of Hudson, MA and Angela (David) Dalton of Plymouth; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Clifford of Michigan and Donald of Massachusetts; and five sisters, Louise and Barbara of New Hampshire, Beverly and Shirley of Massachusetts, and Lila of Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; one daughter, Linda; his parents; and one sister, Lulamae.
