
Red Lake Falls - Thelma C. Dailey, 91, of Red Lake Falls died on May 8, l997 at Pioneer Memorial Home in Erskine where she had resided since August of l995. Arrangements were with Petterson Funeral Home, Inc. of Red Lake Falls.
Funeral services were held on Monday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Thief River Falls with Reverends Robert Forbes and Sherman McCormick officiating. Burial was in Red Lake Falls at the Oak Gove Cemetery. Casketbearers were Larry Dailey, Bruce Dailey, Clark Dailey, Chad Seltman, Rick Hallock and Darrell Glass.
Thelma Cordelia Dailey was born December 19, 1905 at Cisco, the daughter of the late Thor and Anna (Hauge) Rustad. She was raised in the Erskine area and graduated from high school there. Following a year of teacher training, Thelma taught at three country schools in Red Lake County. On October 8, 1930, she was united in marriage to Millard Dailey in Red Lake Falls. The couple lived in Red Lake Falls. Thelma earned a college degree in the early 60's. She then taught in Gonvick for two years before teaching at Red Lake Falls Elementary School until her retirement in 1971. Millard passed away February 4, 1992. Thelma was a member of the National Education Association, Minnesota Education Association and the Thief River Falls Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Vivian Seltman of Overland Park, KS; sons, George Dailey and wife Elsie of Red Lake Falls and Robert Dailey and wife Sondra of Long View, WA; 14 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wilmar Rustad of Erskine and Paul Rustad of Loon Lake, WA; and three sisters, Gladys Shumway of Enumclaw, WA, Ellen Curl and Dot Jorgenson of Milton-Freewater, OR.
She is preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, Neville, George, infant George, Roy and Wilbur; three sisters, Agnes, Myrtle and Marie; two great-grandchildren and one grandson; and son-in law, Alan Seltman.
