Red Lake Falls - Margaret Cuno, 66, Red Lake Falls, died on Friday, April 4, 1997, at her home in Red Lake Falls.

Mass of Christian burial was held on April 7 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. Burial will be held in the spring at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Margaret Mary Cuno was born on April 3, 1931 in Red Lake Falls, daughter of the late John and Anna (Pahlen) Schmitz. She was raised in Red Lake Falls and graduate from the Lafayette High School in 1948. On April 18, 1951, she was united in marriage to Edward Cuno at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. She worked at various places in Red Lake Falls. Margaret was active in community affairs. She was a member of the Blue Line Club, the Legion auxiliary, St. Joseph Catholic Church and Guild also St. Ann's, and the Minnesota Steam Thrasher's Association.

She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah Koetzle and husband Richard of Lakeville, Vicki Cuno of Bloomington, and Peggy McClintock and husband John of Crocker, MO; two sons, David Cuno of Red Lake Falls, and Dean Cuno and wife Sheila of Wheaton; four grandchildren; four sisters Clarice Knott of Red Lake Falls, Elizabeth Gerard of Minot, ND, Lucille Desotell of Clarice, and Marilyn Newton of Euclid; six brothers, Sylvester Schmitz, and Vincent Schmitz of Red Lake Falls, John Schmitz of Thief River Falls, Tony Schmitz of Bagley, Louis Schmitz, Leonard Schmitz of Farmington. She is also survived by a great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward on June 19, 1995, and her parents John and Anna Schmitz, also two brothers, Joe and David Schmitz.
