Vern "Bunny" Cote, 58

Red Lake Falls - Vern "Bunny" Cote, 58, died Monday, November 24, 1997 at Riverview Hospital in Crookston.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 29 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne with Father Gary LaMoine officiating. Val Gagnon will be the organist. Military honors will be afforded by American Legion Post 22 of Red Lake Falls. Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at the Petterson Funeral Home in Red Lake Falls and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Vern Cote was born April 28, 1939 at Terrebonne, the son of Aristide and Agnes (Thibert) Cote. He was raised there and attended school there. Vern entered the U.S. Army, and following his discharge was married to Maxine Polski on August 29, 1963 in St. Paul. The couple moved to Plummer where he farmed. Vern also worked for Holt Electric and Arctic Cat. In 1979 he moved to the family homestead near Terrebonne where he has farmed and resided since. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Terrebonne.

Vern is survived by one daughter, Virginia "Ginger" Konickson of Fergus Falls; two sons, Robert "Bob" (Kristy) Cote of Grand Forks, ND and Steven Cote of Roseau; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, Joseph Cote of Thief River Falls, Maurice Cote and Myron Cote, both of Red Lake Falls; and three sisters, Erma Normandin of New Ulm, Irene Dessellier of Oklee and Mae Trapanier of Kent, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
